In the traditional sense of the definition, Christie Lane Industries is a sheltered workshop.
However, that is the only thing traditional about Christie Lane Industries.
While Ohio's industrial base has dwindled and there are fewer jobs available for sheltered workshops, Christie Lane Industries has been a leader in creating innovative ways to keep individuals with disabilities working.
While we continue to perform such tasks as packaging and assembly for a variety of clients, we also have created several innovative programs that are not only green, but keep Christie Lane Industries moving forward.
We are always seeking creative ways to keep our employees working. We also welcome ideas from the outside. If you think there is a way in which Christie Lane Industries can benefit your company, please give us a call John Schwartz at 419.668.8840, ext. 115.
Assembly and Packaging
For decades, Christie Lane Industries has assisted businesses by supplying efficient and affordable labor for assembly and packaging projects. The most value-added service that Christie Lane Industries offers is one in which our customers ship raw materials to our docks that we assemble to fill orders for direct shipment.
For example, a producer of beauty and cosmetic products sends us bulk shipments of its various products. As orders arrive, they are filled and shipped directly to the customer.
If this is an area in which Christie Lane Industries can be of assistance to your company, please contact us at 419.668.8840, ext. 115.

Christie Lane Industries is a certified document destruction operation. We will pick up your sensitive documents and destroy them in the security of our alarmed and monitored facility. These documents can range from business documents to medical records.
Christie Lane Industries was the first developmental disability agency in Ohio to receive certification from the National Association for Information Destruction. CLI Document Destruction has earned a "AAA" rating, which is the highest offered by the association. After our large-capacity equipment has destroyed your documents, we deliver 100 percent of our baled, shredded paper fiber to paper mills to be recycled into new paper products.
CLI Document Destruction offers a full array of product packages, including flat-rate secure collection bins and complete pick-up services. Picking up the phone to call Christie Lane Industries to arrange a pick-up is the only heavy lifting you’ll need to do.

Christie Lane Industries recycles cardboard and various types of paper, cloth, glass, metals and plastics.
Each year, CLI Small Business Recycling Program recycles more than 500 tons of material. For a nominal fee, local businesses partner with CLI to operate in a more environmentally conscious way, while saving real green in their waste disposal costs.
- Christie Lane Industries recycles about 400 tons of cardboard and paper annually.
- About 100 tons of various plastics are recycled each year. The bulk of the plastic is boat wrap.
- In 2009, Christie Lane Industries began a glass and cloth recycling program. The cloth recycling program is in partnership with Norwalk Custom Furniture, and the glass program supplies glass to Strategic Materials of Cleveland, which provides glass to Owens Corning.
